This comprehensive sewing and tailoring course will give you a thorough basic understanding of sewing tools, sewing and garment construction methods, used in the industry today. Through a combination of discussions, practical individual exercises and one-to-one consultations, you will explore use of sewing tools, different construction methods and working with different types of fabric. Through this, participants will learn a range of sewing techniques. Participants will also learn about different methods of inserting components such as invisible and lapped zips.
This module introduces participants to produce a pattern cutting and toile sewing for selected couture garment to test their understanding and skill before produce it in actual fabric. Students will prepare top and bottom garment with suitable elements, couture technically interpret the fashion sketches into garment, and implement good pattern drafting practices and body measurement. This studio-based course explores the development of drafting the pattern and sewing women’s wear in correct methods
